Helping People Move Into Alignment - Nat Gold Wellness

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Natalie Gold, Owner of Nat Gold Wellness, located in Salt Spring Island,, BC, CA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Natalie Gold here. I am a Transformation Coach specializing in aligning physical, mental, and emotional health to create a life of ease and joy! I get to connect with people all over the world to help them rise out of chaos and frustration into clarity and peace. My clients learn how to work with all aspects of their energetic bodies to act optimally as a team, rocket them out of repetitive ruts, and release the habits that are holding them back from being their best selves.

Tell us about yourself

I've been fascinated with the body from a young age. I discovered Reflexology while on a kibbutz in Israel and have been exploring healing through the feet ever since. For years I have offered in-person treatment, most recently incorporating Bowen Therapy, with life-changing results for thousands of people. I was the premier Reflexology Instructor for the Vancouver School of Bodywork and Massage for 15 years. I organized the course content for the Vancouver Career College.

I noticed that the clients who stayed to debrief post-treatment were the ones making the biggest leaps in their healing journey, making Coaching an organic, natural evolution of the work I was doing. My innate understanding and knowledge of the body give me a unique insight into my client's processes, and I love seeing people click into alignment with their true source.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Running a successful business with a multitude of raving clients in my small island home. I started slow and was definitely a late bloomer, but now I see my life experience as a bonus - it is wisdom that I simply did not possess 30 years ago.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Learning all the things! Figuring out how and what to delegate is the best way to utilize your time. For instance, I like bookkeeping but discovered I am not a fan of video editing. This lets me know where it is worth it to hire support.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't quit your day job right away unless you can afford to! My business was a side hustle for years through world travel (in a time before the internet - whereas now people can easily work and travel), raising three kids, surviving through a divorce, and all the other curveballs that life can offer us.
  2. Find your tribe. Not only your cheerleaders but experts in your field. I have cultivated a strong group of peers to bounce ideas and issues off. Thanks to the world wide web, I have a global network to draw from and share with in recent years.
  3. Take responsibility for everything! Your business is YOUR business. It can be dangerous and costly to put blind faith in anyone else without accountability. Even celebrities get burned by the people who were supposed to care for them (money, taxes, accounting, etc.). You don't need to do it all, but it is in your best interest to understand it.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Sometimes I get offers to work for other people, which can be tempting - I have met many amazing and interesting people! Then I remember how much I love being the architect of my life and work. Collaboration is cool, but I will no longer spend my days building someone else's dream.

Practice all things, including mindfulness (meditation and/or breathwork), take care of your health, be willing to pay for help, and chalk up everything as a lesson - and don't waste your time taking things personally. When you trip and fall - as we all do! - dust yourself off, and apply that knowledge the next time.

"Life is not about how many times you fall down. It's about how many times you get back up."
— Jaime Escalante
