What's your business, and who are your customers?
We specialize in food safety, quality, and technical support for the food industry, including auditing, training, and consulting services. We add value and benefit to your business by streamlining processes and programs, ensuring efficient and effective business processes and compliance that results in saving time and money. To assist the food industry and its stakeholders in ensuring they meet global and local changes within the sector. We provide training, consultation, and technical support to ensure your employees have the right tools to succeed. Lumar Food Safety Services Ltd supports you in establishing sustainable food safety and quality management system to assure your company satisfies the relevant standards.
Tell us about yourself
The company was founded in November of 2014 by Nadia Narine, who brings over 20 years of expertise in the food industry. Nadia specializes in technical, quality assurance, quality control, food safety, hygiene, audit, and training roles, specifically in the bakery, confectionery, and dairy food industries. Lumar Food Safety Services takes pride in providing exceptional service to our clients. At both a national and global level, having worked with companies such as Maple Leaf Foods-Canada Bread, SAI Global, and Cadbury Chocolate.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Although a small company, we are able to run courses with a zero cancellation rate. Unlike our competitors, we are in a position to offer this as added value. We provide large company results with small company customer service and the lowest prices available in the industry.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
You are responsible for EVERYTHING; there is no one to go to if there is an accounting to be done or an IT issue.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Make sure you are comfortable in the market you are entering, as there will be lows and highs. Have a comfortable saving in the event you have a slow start. Be creative, and have fun!
