What's your business, and who are your customers?

My7Words LLC is a professional development company for women. I am a Certified Professional Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, Facilitator, and Consultant with 15+ years of experience, and diverse and broad-based background in training, consulting, mentoring, and leadership. Whenever I am asked about my love for coaching, I say, "My goal is simple. I invite people into the heart of transformation through professional development by creating a connection to their passion, their purpose, and their unlimited potential!"

Tell us about yourself

I launched My7Words in late 2021. I knew in my heart that this was the perfect time to start my "next." I have been working for a non-profit for the past six years in Workforce Development. During that time frame, I had the absolute honor of interacting with many young women through training and coaching. Doing this work, I realized how much it impacted their lives. Seeing them excel in their jobs and personal life is such a blessing! When I receive an email, text, or call from a former student telling me how much they appreciated my role in their professional development, it warms my heart. That's what motivates me and keeps me going forward.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment so far is actually seeing my vision and dream manifest. What keeps me going is knowing that as I am building my brand, I am impacting women's lives for the better.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the most challenging aspects of being a business owner is getting your name out there and building your client base. You want everyone to know who you are and what you do!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do your research. Make sure you read, watch webinars, YouTube videos, classes, whatever it takes! Always remember knowledge is power. No one can take that away from you.
  2. Make sure you set your company structure up correctly. Cross all your T's and dot your I's.
  3. Network, Network, Network!! Join organizations, go to meet and greet events, and make sure your elevator pitch is on point!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I sincerely believe that whatever business a person is in, customer service can make or break you! Treat others as you'd want others to treat you.
