What's your business, and who are your customers?
Must Love Books is a business that caters to readers. We sell tote bags, pencil cases, and sweaters with slogans like “It’s A reader Thing.”
Tell us about yourself
What got me into my business was the fact that my aunt is an entrepreneur, and I saw her getting all these cool opportunities and creating these cool bags with her printer and heat press; it inspired me to do the same. She showed me how to make print and heat press; I created a slogan, recorded the process, and posted it on Tiktok, which gained a bit of attention. After some talking with my parents and aunt, I started Must Love Books.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is selling out products while at vending events. Seeing people buying my products and enjoying them is something I could’ve never imagined.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner, especially as a high schooler, is managing school, my part-time job, my business, and my social life. A person can only do so much and handle so much that sometimes it becomes a challenge.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Three tips I’d give I’d be patient, be open-minded, and believe in yourself. It might be hard to believe and to stay motivated, but not every day will be your best day.
