What's your business, and who are your customers?

Multifaceted™ serves the health-conscious consumer that desires healthy, non-toxic items & home goods in their homes. Our target consumer admires small businesses, community, making the world better, global warming, and overall health for them and their family members. Our consumer desires unique, creative items that have a level of exclusivity to the items they have in their home while being transparently safe. We meet the desires of our consumers by offering a unique home décor candle line that is made with premium, non-toxic ingredients that also have a unique flower top and symbolic meaning.

Tell us about yourself

I first started Multifaceted™ as a creative outlet to funnel my energy into. This creative outlet quickly became a business that I titled Multifaceted, as I did not know exactly what it would be. The brand name is modeled after a key adjective that describes me and my capabilities. I am a multifaceted person, and I am proud to bring that to this company I have started.

I've been driven to be an entrepreneur since I was a teenager, and before, it was the buzzword or trending noun. My entrepreneurial spirit is fueled by my spirit of never giving up, unapologetically expressing my creativity and talents, and staying true to myself and my vision while also making an impact on the world. I've always had a desire to do good, and Multifaceted™ allows me to do just that. I have been gifted with several talents since birth and have had the pleasure to develop them with formal education, work experience, and mentorship. Thankfully over time, I've finally figured out how to make that impact, and it is through this business.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment has been growing a business that started in my head and watching it progress every year. It has been the most rewarding yet challenging accomplishment for me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing for me is working through the tough times of weeks without sales and being told no as I am growing this business. It's a challenge to work so hard on something you have poured your heart, soul, and so much hard work into and have slow sales and doors shut in your face. It has taught me to stay patient and work through the hard times to really appreciate the good days and sales.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Stay Consistent: success in any form comes from being consistent. You have to show up every day for what you want, especially in running a business.
  2. Be Authentically You: as someone who was afraid to show themselves as the face of the brand, I encourage all business owners to show themselves and be their true, authentic selves. People respond best to people who are real and authentically passionate about their brands/companies, so be yourself and don't hide who you are.
  3. Make sure you have fun and enjoy life while running your business. Being a business owner can be very taxing on your mental and physical being. Take breaks, take care of your body, go on vacations and make sure you do something for yourself at least once a week, if not daily. You only get one life; make sure you don't just work & sleep. Enjoy the days as best you can.
