What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is called Mount Vesuvius Coffee. It’s an online store located at MVC.cx. My customers are anyone who loves coffeehouse-style beverages but hates waiting in line.

Tell us about yourself

I’ve been a coffee lover and connoisseur for years. I’ve spent hours standing in line at Starbucks and Coffee Bean, and you name it. I knew there had to be a better way. One day, while waiting in line for another delicious cup of my favorite blend, it hit me! I’m done with waiting in line. I’m going to gather everything I need to make all my favorite beverages right at home. I’ll become my own Barista. I’ll make all these wonderful specialty drinks in my very own kitchen. I’ll save both time and money and get the same freshly-brewed joy I get from a coffeehouse on my way out the front door each and every morning!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner was combining one of my favorite things with my lifelong ambition to create a successful business and become financially independent at the same time.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the most difficult things about being a business owner is finding the best vision to move your business forward and sticking to that vision no matter what life throws your way. It’s not easy, but try to keep things as simple as possible. Confront each issue as they arise and do what needs doing. Keep it simple. Just do what needs doing.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get the best business idea and vision possible (Be sure and be confident).
  2. Believe in yourself and your vision, no matter what (Don’t listen to the naysayers!).
  3. Innovate, Stay Flexible, Always Look Forward, Work Hard & Always Do The Right Thing! (Always!)
