Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jeremy DeConcini, Founding Partner of MotoSonora Brewing Company, located in Tucson, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a small craft brewery with a tap room and beer garden with a theme based on vintage racing and road trips.

Tell us about yourself

I have had a very strange career, but I was always a beer lover and would travel out of my way to find obscure breweries. Once I learned a bit about craft beer as a business and how the culture of that industry is so unique, I knew I had to get involved.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Hands down, surviving Covid. We had our soft opening three days before they shut everything down, so we had to pivot, pivot and pivot again, but we are still here, and the beer is great!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Making decisions based on predictions about the future that are almost certainly wrong.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Dig deep. You may be very well prepared and capitalized, but the world is going to throw some curve balls at you, and you will work harder than you ever thought possible.
