Achieve Your Financial Goals - Moola Masters
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in finance but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Heidi MacVittie, CEO of Moola Masters, located in Dover, NH, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Moola Masters is a financial coaching program I started about six months ago. My clients are typically professional women who want help managing their finances. My goal is to make money simple and to make achieving financial freedom easy.
I set up a 5-year financial plan for my clients. We email their personalized goals monthly. They get a personal "Mojo Number" for weekly discretionary spending. When my clients meet their monthly goals and pay attention to their Mojo Number, their financial dreams will happen!
My clients each have different needs ranging from help setting up spending plans to even help with retirement, savings, or brokerage accounts. I offer different programs and different levels of support. Moola Masters is about financial literacy. I have a YouTube channel and a podcast, with each episode talking about different financial topics. Moola Masters is all about creating financial freedom for our clients.
Tell us about yourself
I retired as a physician about a year ago. I had been helping friends and family for years with financial information, help with accounts, and referrals to services they needed for their journey. I have always been passionate about helping people, and there is such a need for financial education. I spent 25 years saving lives, and now I want to make it easy for people to achieve their dreams.
I think about the hurdles people have to overcome to achieve their goals and think of ways I can make it easy. One thing I have noticed is people have a difficult time with budgeting. I am currently working on an app to make this easy too!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Starting! How many of us have ideas but can't seem to get them from ideas to reality? In the past year, I have created a website, a Youtube channel, and a podcast. Now it is about getting the story out into the world so I can help as many people as possible.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I think the hardest thing to do is being accountable to yourself. Making sure you set the business goals and keep pushing to grow your business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- I think the most important thing you can do is talk to people! There are so many people who would love to help you get your idea off the ground. A lot of people love to mentor new entrepreneurs - look for them!
- Be accountable to yourself. Schedule the time to work on your business and stick to it!
- Keep in mind that "failure" isn't really "failure." It is you learning that something didn't work. It is an opportunity to grow and try something new.
