What's your business, and who are your customers?

Monday Morning Press is a paper boutique specializing in handmade paper jewelry.

Tell us about yourself

I started MMP in 2015 as a luxury letterpress boutique. I printed custom paper goods, invitations, and business cards on my 100+-year-old antique letterpress. In 2019 I had the idea to use some of my leftover papers to make earrings. Through lots of trial and error, I designed my own process, and the paper jewelry revolution began!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to run a successful online business out of my garage while also being a mom! It has been an incredible blessing to do what I love in terms of design and working with my hands while also being able to be home when my girls get off the bus.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Taxes! Lol. But seriously, I get so bogged down with bookkeeping and marketing and social media, and I really just want to be making.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find what makes you unique and run with it! Don’t compare yourself to others in your niche; stay authentic.
  2. Hire help when things start becoming more stressful than fun. Don’t let the hustle steal your joy.
  3. Make a Shopify website that you can manage in-house and just put yourself out there! Don’t wait for the perfect moment; just do it!
