Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jason Liang, executive chef, and owner of Momonoki, located in Atlanta, GA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Momonoki is a counter service restaurant focusing on casual Japanese comfort fare. Momo Cafe attached to the space will serve the choicest coffee and Japanese-inspired drinks. Restaurant quality food but fast and in a relaxed environment. Also, we are one of the few matcha focus coffee shops in Atlanta. Young people and the tech community love us, and we are grateful for that.
Tell us about yourself
We love Japanese comfort food and matcha, but it’s not easy to find in the city, so we think midtown Atlanta is a perfect location. Momonoki is affordable, quick, and delicious. You will find something on the menu for everyone. We like to create a unique and different concept from what’s available on the market.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being able to bring different Japanese cuisine and concepts to Atlanta, we will keep leading the trend.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Finding the right/good people for the job is the most important and hardest thing.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just do it, do overthinking or planning.
- Do the numbers correctly.
- Treat people right and honestly.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Be creative and thoughtful, never just copy and paste.
