Tell us about yourself
From a young age, I was drawn toward a spiritual way of living and a mind-body connection. I love yoga right from the start, exploring many different styles. It wasn't until a couple of years later that I started practicing Ashtanga/Vinyasa yoga, and the fluidity, beauty, and meditative qualities captured her heart. I had no intentions of teaching yoga. I wanted to immerse myself in training to deepen my own personal practice. Little did I know the universe had other plans. I studied with many renowned teachers and am always learning and expanding my experience and knowledge of this lifelong practice by continuing to learn from my favorite and most influential teachers of the past and present. I decided to open Moksha Yoga Studio shortly after my son was born due to the lack of yoga in the Wellington Community.
As the studio has evolved, so have my teachings and practice. I not only teach group classes incorporating intelligent and invigorating sequencing, good music, and calming energy but specializes in working one on one. I work with professional athletes, celebrities, and the local community using yoga as a tool to help address, assess, and work through physical injuries and imbalances and foster a greater sense of awareness, healing, and balance in the body and mind. I consistently continue my yoga education and am proud to be a part of the Yoga Medicine® community, where the standards of education are raising the bar in health and wellness. I strive to bring yoga into everyday life by doing, evolving, and truly living it, allowing peace and joy to flourish within and spread to others! In my free time, you will find me traveling with my family, at the bottom of the sea, or on a paddle board, enjoying the beauty and experiences this world has to offer!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is the opportunity to truly help and inspire others in taking care of themselves and nurturing their body, mind, and souls.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing has been running my business thru COVID. We suffered huge losses that we are still dealing with, and it's been hard staying afloat thru it all. We are very fortunate to be established in the community and have been able to sustain the business through the challenges of the world-changing.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Firstly do what you love, and it doesn't feel so much like work. Come up with a business plan and budget. Trust your instincts and put the time and energy into growing and running your business consistently.
