What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Modern Integrative Psychiatry. We are a Psychiatry Practice located in New York City. We specialize in psychopharmacology or medication management of psychiatric disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, and Attention Deficit Disorder. Our approach is innovative and integrative, and we address the multifaceted and complex biochemical as well as psychosocial issues that contribute to modern-day psychiatric symptoms.
Tell us about yourself
I am an MD (Medical Doctor) who specializes in Psychiatry. I went to medical school and completed residency and fellowship training programs in Psychiatry. Practicing Medicine and, specifically, Psychiatry has been my lifelong career, which I continue to enjoy, and I feel very grateful to have such a wonderful and fulfilling career.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My greatest accomplishment as a business owner is to be able to bring affordable and accessible mental health care to the people of New York by accepting a number of different health insurance plans at my practice.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I think being the owner of any business comes with great rewards and great challenges. Customer service and patient satisfaction is our #1 goal, so we are always striving to achieve this.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have a business plan/understand the financial investment of starting and running your business.
- Know your referral sources and network to establish relationships in the community.
- Be flexible in your thinking and listen to feedback.
