What's your business, and who are your customers?

MisMacK Clean Cosmetics is the most Revolutionary, Canadian Made, Multi-Use, Award-Winning Clean Beauty Brand on the Market. I am an Internationally Acclaimed Makeup Artist. I worked alongside two female Canadian Chemists to create MisMacK's high-performing products. I single-handedly designed every aspect of MisMacK, which officially launched in 2019. We're small but mighty and the Masters of Multi-Purpose products, eliminating wasteful packaging and the guilty feeling you get with an over-filled makeup bag. From amazing Small Batched Skin Care to Makeup, Brushes, Tools, and New Lashes, we've got you covered.

We have 2 Brand Concept stores, one Downtown Salmon Arm, known as HQ, and another downtown Victoria. Each house the PRO's of Clean Beauty. Not just by creating amazing, none toxic, multi-use, high-performing products but by Empowering every human that makeup does not define them but is merely a tool of empowerment. We offer Signature Complimentary Pampering Sessions all day every/every day, private one on one makeup lessons, professional makeup applications, bridal hairstyling, and Professional Makeup Artistry Training Programs. Our team has over 35 years of experience as professional makeup artists. We truly are the Trusted PRO's of Clean Beauty.

Tell us about yourself

I'm a Canadian internationally acclaimed Makeup Artist with over 16 years of experience. My work has been featured in Huffington Post, Daily Mail, WedLux, Cosmo. I used to work in Management for Companies such as Makeup For Ever and Nars. In 2016 I was introduced to Clean Beauty. At that point, I had never heard of Clean before. I was educated on just how many toxic ingredients are in everyday products. However, I couldn't find any Clean, Canadian-made makeup that held up to my picky makeup artist's standards. I took matters into my own hands, found an amazing Canadian Female Chemist, and MisMacK Clean Cosmetics Inc was born. I single handily built every aspect of the brand, from packaging to bar codes, to the website in my small town basement of Canoe, BC, Canada. While working with my chemist to create each formula from the ground up. I've always had a pipeline dream of building my own cosmetic brand, but how does that.

I was just a makeup artist hustling in a small town. Well, that dream came true in May 2019 when I officially launched MisMacK. During a global pandemic to boot, I grew MisMacK out of my basement and into two storefronts in 2021. MisMacK morphed into so much more than just amazing products. We empower all humans every day that makeup does not define you. It's merely a tool of empowerment by offering Complimentary Pampering Sessions, Private one on one Makeup Lessons, and of course, Bridal and Event Makeup Applications. Our line is small but mighty, and we are the masters of Muli Use Products. Eliminating wasteful packaging.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Opening 2 Stores all on my own within in 6 months of each other.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Honestly, everything. You are the one that has to figure everything out. You have to be willing to fail and learn from that failure. That's to only way growth happens.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. No one is going to build your dream but you.
  2. If you're not failing, you're not growing.
  3. Consistency Compounds.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I've never gone to school for business or entrepreneurship. I'm a small-town girl with Global Dreams. If I can inspire one person to follow their dreams and never give up, my job is complete.
