What's your business, and who are your customers?
Miracle Lab is a safe space to align your mind, beauty, and spirit to create the life you want; to become the person you dream of being. We offer a unique blend of spiritual wellness consulting and mentoring along with holistic skincare and makeup classes. We strengthen your sense of worth and purpose and empower you to serve the world. My clients range from entrepreneurs and executives branding their look to moms and teens just starting out; all share the desire to learn how to show up as their whole, authentic selves confidently.
Tell us about yourself
Back in 2016, at the height of my career as a celebrity makeup artist, educator, and curator of my own makeup line in Savannah, GA, I was teaching a lot of makeup classes. Over and over again, I kept running into the same roadblocks: insecurities and limiting beliefs around their worth. Most women had never been taught how to do their makeup, or someone told them something untrue and unkind... most had a hard time looking in the mirror. Despite being a makeup artist and teacher, I felt more like a beauty therapist.
I decided to change my entire life to take a leap of faith and pursue spiritual wellness. We sold everything and traveled full-time in our vintage Airstream as I figured out how to impact my clients on a deeper level. After two years of writing and learning, we found our promised land, a 25-acre farm in Hopeful, GA. I went on to earn my certificate in Wellness Counseling from Cornell University. My professor encouraged me to use everything I had inside of me. Then, I had a full circle, aha moment! Beauty Therapy: a unique blend of spiritual wellness and holistic beauty for inner and outer radiance.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Watching my clients discover their worth and true beauty is the most important work I’ve ever done! We create new beliefs that help them to create the life they dream of.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest part for me is to have a niche. I want to help everyone, but that doesn’t help anyone. I’ve had to learn to trust that even though folks may come to me for makeup at first, in time, we go further and heal on a deeper level.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The first tip is to ask yourself: What do you want to do? Without limiting yourself, just ask yourself, what do you want? A clue is that you’re most likely spending time researching and thinking about what you want to do, but you may be afraid to admit it or even speak about it. When I was only a makeup artist, the idea of saying I was interested in spiritual life coaching freaked me out. That’s a great sign!
Then, really listen with your whole heart and soul. Trust that your answer is there for a reason.
Lastly, make time to learn more about what you want. Talk to folks working in that industry, read and journal more, and find out what you’re feeling. That can help you figure out your next step.
