What's your business, and who are your customers?
Mind's Eye Creative is a graphic recording, graphic facilitation, and live illustration business. Our customers or folks who care about helping break down complexity using visual language. We serve some of the top Fortune 100 companies as well as small non-profits and anyone in between.
Tell us about yourself
I got started as a facilitator first and fell in love with group process and bringing the wisdom out of people and into reality. I love seeing the lightbulb moments come to life for people and helping people feel connected to the information they are learning or experiencing.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I've been on stage graphic recording conversations from folks like Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Steve Wozniak.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Working in the business vs. on the business. Trying to balance things, so I don't enter dry spells because I've been heads down in client work.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Look at everything you do in an experiment. Not everything is going to work out, and that's ok!
- Cooperation over the competition. Look at others in the industry as partners and seek out people who feel the same. You never know where those relationships will take you.
- Pay for things that are going to make your business and life easier, from hiring a house cleaner to paying for the SaaS subscription. You may not feel like you are ready to part with some money, but I've always been thankful I did.
