Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Natalia Zolotareva, Founder of Mind Your Wellness LLC., located in Manhasset, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I started Mind Your Wellness LLC to help stressed-out professionals deal with anxiety, overwhelm, and chronic fatigue. Being a nurse, I'm especially passionate about helping nurses with burnout. I can work with companies providing corporate wellness programs and with individuals who are looking to learn healthy ways of dealing with stress and anxiety so that they can fully enjoy their lives.

Tell us about yourself

I worked as a nurse in intensive care for over twenty years, taking care of people with chronic diseases. I saw that most of these conditions could have been prevented through healthier lifestyle choices, and I decided to help people get healthier. I became a Board Certified Nurse Coach - a nurse with special training in behavior change.

After years of working in stressful environments, I realized the importance of dealing with stress. I did a lot of research, read books, went on retreats, and studied with masters of ancient healing arts. I developed unique strategies that help my clients manage stress and anxiety so that they can sleep better, be more productive, and have more energy and focus. I started working with clients and was amazed by what was possible for them in a very short time! It is seeing these transformations and celebrating my clients' successes that make me wake up with a smile on my face knowing that I'm doing exactly what I was supposed to do.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a new business owner, the whole process of establishing a business was a challenge! Who knew that even simple steps like getting a professional email would make me stumble?! I never thought I would be an entrepreneur, and it's been a steep learning curve for me. I'm really proud of what I've accomplished.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Marketing has been the hardest for me. It's not like anything I'd done in my life. There are so many different ways to promote your services, and I'm still finding my way in that space. It is important to get my information out there so I can help more people.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Plan time off. When starting a business, there are no "work hours," your work is never done, and it's so easy to get overworked and overwhelmed. Scheduling time for fun activities and for time with friends and family is just as important as scheduling work.
  2. Starting a business is a process. I don't know if you can ever be done because a business is always evolving, and as the owner, you are always adjusting and pivoting. Focusing on enjoying the process rather than on achieving a specific outcome makes you a winner no matter what happens in the future.
  3. There are a lot of challenges that come from our own mindset: worries, doubts, and fears. It is important to take the time to acknowledge the difficulties with compassion for yourself. Self-compassion makes you more resilient. Asking friends and mentors for help is important too.
