Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Anna Sillanpaa, Founder of MINÄ, located in London, UK.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Breathwork Teacher https://www.annasillanpaa.co.uk/ and the Founder of an Emotional Health and Self-Discovery Membership Platform called MINÄ https://www.itsmina.co.uk/. I support conscious women who are on a journey of empowering themselves and living a life that is purpose-led and authentic to them. I specialize in using the power of the breath to help women to access deeper hidden patterns and limiting beliefs and help them to release them so they can fully align with their authentic selves.
Tell us about yourself
I went through a very challenging period of my life where I was stuck in a constant loop of depression, anxiety, and feeling lost and without a clear direction. I was working in the tech industry in London for years, but I felt the calling to do something that was more aligned with who I was. After going through years of struggle, life pushed me to do the inner work, make some major life changes and discover the tools for my own self-discovery/healing that I am now utilizing to support other women.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
To be able to work with amazing people and see how this work (the power of the breath and doing the inner work consistently) transforms them.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
There are many :) but one thing I think isn't spoken enough about is the fact that running a business itself, in my opinion, isn't the hardest part; it is the internal work with yourself that is the most challenging part. To be able to trust your own vision when other people can't always see it. Keep going on days when you can't always see the results right away and continue showing up even when it is difficult. But I still wouldn't change anything else. It is so worth it.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Become very clear on your why and make sure that the business that you are starting is really aligned with who you really are vs. the need to start a business.
- Always trust your own vision and your own intuition because they already know what you are meant to achieve. The best businesses are always born from the authentic gifts that you have to offer to the world vs. following the path that someone else has already created. You really do have all the answers within, also what comes to your business.
- Keep going and take small steps one day at a time.
