What's your business, and who are your customers?
Midwifery business consulting services. We offer midwives all over the United States help with starting and improving their private practices. We have one-on-one consulting, resources, tools, templates, and courses available.
Tell us about yourself
I have been in the birth community for the last 20 years and a Certified Nurse Midwife last 10 years. We started Midwifery Business Consultation in 2017 to help midwives with business and financial education that wasn't happening in school to be successful in running their own practice.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I love making big impacts on so many midwives across the US. We are making more midwifery practices sustainable and prosperous with our resources and support.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
There is a massive learning curve for midwives, and it is hard to offer a new service that midwives really never had before. Business education wasn't a high priority prior to our company because people didn't know what they didn't know.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Always follow your dreams. Working for someone else is always riskier than creating something for yourself with the right resources and support. Don't let your fears and myths around business ownership stop you from making a big impact on your community and your personal life!
