Daily Money Manager - Michele Jones Financial Coach

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Michele Jones, Founder of Michele Jones Financial Coach, located in Placentia, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Financial Coach and Daily Money Manager. My clients are individuals who desire to manage their finances better. As a Financial Coach, I teach them financial basics, such as budgeting, paying off debts, saving for emergencies, and planning for retirement. As a Daily Money Manager, I take over the day-to-day finances of either an individual or a small business. This removes the financial burden on them and allows them to spend their time doing things they enjoy.

Tell us about yourself

In 2009 my husband and I were financially ruined. We had to short-sell our home, move in with my parents with our son, and have no hope for our future. We started budgeting and paying off our debts slowly and were able to pay off $114,000 in debt and eventually saved to purchase a home. Through this life change, I realized that I was not the only one who did not know how to manage my personal finances. So I began helping others. I officially opened my Coaching Business in 2020 but had been working as a coach for many years before then. I love helping people change their lives. I love offering people hope and a way to achieve their financial goals.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is helping others. It is seeing the success of my clients and them being able to change their family tree by learning how to manage their finances.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I struggle with finding new clients. People often have a hard time asking for help until they are in deep. I would love to help more people, but finding clients can be a challenge.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just do it, but make sure you have a plan.
  2. Create a budget and keep expenses in check.
  3. Ask for help, connect with others and learn from them.
