What's your business, and who are your customers?

I run a consulting business in the field of data science, data analytics, modeling, and statistics. My customers are typically small to mid-sized businesses that need help with an immediate project. Often this can be building some kind of model to help with pricing, sales, or marketing or doing some kind of data analysis on customer surveys or other available data.

Tell us about yourself

I really enjoy helping people with their data and data analytics needs. It feels really good to see the positive decision-making impact that data analytics can have in helping to steer a business in the right direction. I also love using my brain to think through difficult problems and puzzles. It really is all about building out those strong and lasting relationships to help others.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Maintaining a freelance business for 10+ years and helping a wide variety of clients over that time frame with their data analytics and mathematical needs.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Getting connected with the right clients who you can provide the most value to.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get started with little steps; you don't need to take a giant leap.
  2. Be patient.
  3. Clear Communication with clients and business partners is essential and avoids a lot of headaches later.
