What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are an accounting and tax strategy firm that works with heart-centered business owners making 6-figures or more in their industries and are tired of paying Uncle Sam a quarter or more of their profits.
Tell us about yourself
Angelica and I both have always been service-lead women; we both love helping people and equipping them to grow. In the corporate world, we were limited and put in a box— but as entrepreneurs, we were able to finally go in 100% on our vision and source of achievement and purpose, and that is by exercising our God-given knowledge and talents to see small business owners grow because of their ability to reinvest their tax savings into growing their businesses. The expression on a client's face when we tell them we're saving them 5-figures or, more often, shocks and brings so much peace and abundance to them— that's why we do what we do. This is how we make the world a better place than how we found it, by showing small business owners the same strategies that huge, wealthy businesses use to save money and reinvest in their growth and applying those same strategies to their businesses and personal life so they can also grow exponentially!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We are so blessed to say that our biggest accomplishment to celebrate has been putting $3.2M back into our clients' pockets from 2020 till the end of 2021. I think for a firm that only has 2 full-time employees and two part-time contractors, and a client base of about 100 clients, that's a huge accomplishment during a time when our business owner clients were facing the financial struggles of COVID interruptions and challenges. 2022 exploded with growth because our clients were so happy with the results of working with us, and that's when we began growing and adding more people to our team.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Sustainably scaling our business and growing has been a challenge that has resulted directly from our biggest accomplishment and has become our most challenging endeavor. When you're in the service industry, and you begin growing your client base, the concern becomes how to continue quality and consistency- and transitioning from a business owner that is wearing all the hats to training, delegating a team, and directing a team that needs to work as a cohesive unit has proved to be an interesting dilemma, but one that yields so much value and blessings that it makes every day worth the challenge.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Connect with a tribe of fellow entrepreneurs in your industry and a few experts in things you know absolutely nothing about but that you know it would serve you to learn about.
- Invest in your growth as a business owner before investing in any other type of investment. You are the most valuable asset of your business; if your mind, heart, and soul are in alignment and focused on your mission, vision, and how to execute these things, then your revenues will be a reflection of that alignment.
- Form a professional relationship with someone who is an accountant or enrolled agent who is trustworthy and in alignment with the vision and mission of your business. If you don't feel like you can trust or understand your financial advisor, tax preparer, or accountant, then something isn't right, and it's a mismatch.
