What's your business, and who are your customers?

MB helps leaders understand the importance of their most important asset (their people!) and rally to bring a unique, defined culture to life. MB helps leaders understand why we must be more intentionally focused on culture, how to create a plan for improvement and points leaders toward resources and ideas to design an intentional culture strategy of their own. Conscious Culture is a collective commitment that is bigger than any one of us. We can create a pay it forward legacy – leaving the world a better place than we found it. One good person, one game plan, one great work culture at a time.

Tell us about yourself

I am passionate about workplace culture. With 20+ years of business experience and as a certified Culture Coach – I helped organizations THRIVE. I am the President at PEOPLEfirst Talent & Consulting Solutions and creator of the THRIVE Model, Cards for Culture©, and the Conscious Culture Certification program for Leaders.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Merging with my colleagues as PEOPLEfirst, creating a brand worth following, writing books to help others enjoy their work.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Work/life balance and how to make it all happen in a positive fashion. Find time to get in your unicorn space (that which makes you happy and builds into your positive mindset!).

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make it fun so that it doesn't feel like work.
  2. Time blocks your schedule! Create a monthly happy hour event for all those asking to get a beverage - this will make good use of your time and cause less overwhelm.
  3. Find good partners who complement your skills and make life easier.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Leading with heart isn't easy, but it's needed to make the world better one workplace at a time.
