Mindset, Habits, Self-care - Megan Krepakevich
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Megan Krepakevich, owner of Megan Krepakevich, located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I have an e-commerce store dedicated to habits, self-care, and personal development. My customers are mainly women aged 25-45 working to become the best version of themselves and improve their self-image and overall life fulfillment.
Tell us about yourself
I have always been an entrepreneurial spirit. After a couple of different ventures, one pattern remained consistent, regardless of the dream or challenge ahead - the importance of my mindset. I began to notice that the roadblocks that stood in my way originated from my own limiting beliefs, scarcity mindset, and imposter syndrome, and not a lack in my ability or a fatal flaw preventing me from success. This realization is the basis for everything I do now and why I launched my online store! I believe if we can master our mindset and habits, we are unstoppable.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Listening to my intuition and pivoting when I felt called to. The fact that I am now running this business that I am so passionate about and continue to show up and push forward when the times are tough is a daily accomplishment.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Imposter syndrome and mindset blocks, first and foremost, and secondly, time and energy management. A balance between fighting the hustle culture and preventing burnout while simultaneously showing up to the best of my abilities to ensure I'm always pushing the needle forward - not always an easy task!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Lean in, and the path will appear - you have to take action in order to be given the next step. Don't feel you need to "perfect" the plan or figure it all out before you start. You're never ready, and you'll learn so much faster by doing than by ruminating!
- Step into the identity - we don't get where we want by dipping our toe in the water, or playing small, OWN your role as the person you wish to become and start acting like that person today (i.e. want to be a content creator? make it a non-negotiable to start creating weekly content now the same way you would if you had a million followers).
- Protect your peace - what boundaries do you need to set so that you can keep the blinders on and continue moving forward? Unfollow accounts that make you feel crappy. Use downtime settings on your phone to create a barrier between you and mindless scrolling. Have a mindfulness routine that you lean on to manage your stress and calm your nervous system. *bonus tip - have fun! We take life so seriously, but if you don't enjoy the journey, what is the point of it all anyways?
