What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is multi-faceted, but it all comes back down to the human spirit! I am a branding photographer and visual brand coach, and I work with solopreneurs and small businesses to help them dive deeper into having a stronger connection to their ideal clients and income. Through unique, thoughtful, and stand-out branding photography, I love helping bring businesses and the souls behind them to life. In addition, those I coach work through building not only their own inner confidence but also their brand's visual messaging. Ultimately, my work helps more business owners have strong growth and boundless connection!

Tell us about yourself

I have been creative all my life, so it comes as no surprise that I found a way to create for a living! Although there was a time I would have never realized this could be my reality, I am headstrong in creating a life and business that feels good. I became really excited about working with other women in the business many years ago when attending an empowering conference in San Diego. It was there I fell in love with the spirit of powerful women making their dreams come true. With a background in photography and being a lifelong teacher, it came naturally to work towards incorporating branding photography and coaching into what I cultivated for my career. What motivates me? The dreams and visions of so many wonderful people out there looking to make a difference!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say my biggest accomplishment is not any specific 'title,' award, or tangible but more so the fact that I have persevered through a lot of stressful times, overcome anxieties, and paved a unique path for myself (and those I work with). I look back at what the last decade has done for me, and I am in awe that I kept rising up, which is why I am passionate about helping others do the same!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The many endless hats that can come with running a business that thrives. Finding your strengths, outsourcing the things you aren't so great at, and creating boundaries can be hard...but necessary! I think navigating all of those areas can be what brings many down or stay small...and it's hard!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Get clear!! Clarity is the root of success, is what I always say! Know why you do what you do and who you do it best for, and see the bigger picture of what comes of your goals. Having a clear understanding of all that, especially in the beginning, can weed out some of the confusion and overwhelm. Don't be afraid to dial down and dial into what really matters! It's important to stay focused and keep yourself on a path that makes the most sense, not what everyone else thinks or the gurus say you should do.
