What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a high fashion Canadian-based, female-owned Jewelry Brand that has been selling to Jewelry stores across North America for over a decade. Our designer Sterling Silver and Gold spiritual rings have spinning bands that help increase serenity and peace in the wearer. Spinning the bands on your MeditationRing, even for a few minutes, can help restore calmness and inner peace. Our rings are an effective and natural aid for people suffering from anxiety, as spinning the bands on your MeditationRing can soothe and calm your nerves and offer a distraction from negative thinking patterns. Not only are our MeditationRings spiritual, but they are of exceptional quality and are unique, stylish, and incredibly beautiful to wear.

Tell us about yourself

After obtaining a university and college degree, I traveled extensively to many different parts of the world, spending several years living and experiencing different ways of life, cultures, customs, and religions. These experiences helped inspire and shape me as a person, and I knew that I wanted my career to helping inspire others.

When I returned from my travels, I decided to work with my mother to grow our wholesale jewelry business. I fell in love with the concept of a spinning ring and its spiritual properties. I applied my love for yoga, meditation, spirituality, and my need to reduce anxiety and started to create the brand MeditationRings. Every waking moment goes into fostering and nurturing the brand. I wanted a career that captures the human spirit: love, confidence, purity, serenity, and, most of all, peace. I feel so lucky to have found that.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is when I receive an email from a consumer telling me how our rings have helped them or their loved ones with anxiety or other mental health struggles. It validates why we are doing what we do and gives us more motivation to create beautiful pieces that can help people. Another accomplishment is our successful expansion into the U.S. market, which is almost like starting fresh all over again. Unlike in Canada, where we have become a household name in the fashion and jewelry industries, we have pretty much had to lay down the same foundation and business model in the United States that we used here in Canada to bring the success we have garnered.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Wearing a lot of different hats! You have to really stay on top of everything and keep pushing forward.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I would say to focus on your goals and not to get sidetracked or discouraged; anything worth having is not going to be easy to obtain. Also, follow a path that is true to yourself. After all, it will determine much of your happiness. And learn how to do everything yourself first, then hire people who do it better than you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I would like to just take a moment to remind people to try to stay and live in the moment as much as they can and find joy in the little things in life. Time goes by very quickly, and it's not always the end goal but the journey that matters. XOXO
