Tell us about yourself

Bdubbs co-founded the winter apparel brand Shwalla. The company received investment from the founder of The North Face and additional investment from the former owner of the soccer brand Umbro. He helped retired Olympians in the launch of MLX hockey skates, later sold to Easton Hockey. He has had significant brand marketing roles in and outside of marketing leadership for several major fortune 500 companies. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Brad received The Ohio State University "New Leader" alumni award in 2005. He holds an MBA from a school other than Harvard.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Not talking about ideas....but actually doing them!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Getting used to failure. It happens often and quickly.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't talk; just do!
  2. Be relentless!
  3. Don't do stuff to impress others...do it for yourself.
