Motion, Balance, Ride - MBR Bike Shop
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jesse Angelo, Founder, and Owner of MBR Bike Shop, located in Seattle, WA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a mobile and brick-and-mortar bicycle shop. We cater to the bicycle commuter people in Seattle, Washington. Seattle has one of the highest bike commuter populations in the United States.
Tell us about yourself
I started MBR Bike Shop almost 11 years ago with the thought that I wanted to bring something different to Seattle. I wanted to cater to the many big companies that are located in Seattle. i.e., Amazon, Boeing, blue origin, Microsoft, etc.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is securing a contract with Boeing. We now service all of the boating sites in the PNW.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being a business owner requires many hats to be worn. Some days I’m a bicycle mechanic, while other days, I’m a contract writer or in meetings with big companies. Managing employees and day-to-day operations is not an easy task.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Persistence, patience, and determination. Never stop chasing your dream. However small or large the dream is, it can be achieved with those three things. Patience, persistence, and determination.
