YOU Are the Gateway to Heaven on Earth - Mawu Creations

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Anouk Roussy, founder of Mawu Creations, located in Nelson, BC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is an extension of me: as a multi-talented human being, I intend it to represent who I am and not limit myself to one type of activity. My life's purpose is to use my creativity to contribute to the incarnation of Heaven on Earth. I do so by creating safe spaces of transformation/healing and sharing my wisdom through public speaking and artwork. As a result, the people around me are inspired to reconnect with their souls' infinite love and joy.

One of the forms it takes now is transformational coaching. My premise is that we are all powerful creators and have the capacity to bring into existence the reality we want to experience: it's all about shifting our inner perspective so our outer world will align with it. I serve individuals who deeply care for their surroundings and this Earth, put their whole hearts on the table, and find themselves in a situation of exhaustion, frustration, or dissatisfaction.

I give them the means to develop an unshakable self-love practice, so they can follow their impulses of the heart without having to sacrifice their health and well-being anymore. My clients are ready to have a positive impact around them while experiencing profound satisfaction in all areas of their life. I teach them how to see clearly their inner obstacles and own them, so they can mindfully embrace their creative power.

Tell us about yourself

The starting point of my business is my own journey of transformation. I offered myself the gift of healing by diving deep within, owning my story, and staying committed to the process. Through the years, it resulted in the re-birth of a woman that is drastically more alive, free, and satisfied. My life experience has been radically transformed, so I know it is available to anyone who dares to take the leap.

When you offer yourself the gift of true love and compassion, you want everyone to experience it! I know it's possible, and I also know that by doing so, our collective reality is impacted as well. This amazing planet can provide anything we need to live a delightful embodied experience, and I'm committed to contributing to the creation of this world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As my journey as a business owner is quite recent, I don't have big success stories to tell (yet!). But honestly, the only fact of doing it is an accomplishment. I come from a working-class family where making good money wasn't necessarily well seen, as if there was a contradiction between wealth and being a heart-centred human. Taking this path is a way to break through some intergenerational limiting beliefs and create a new story around success and money.

Each hour passed to work on it is a dedication to success and self-love. I embrace the belief that I have all it takes, and I'm committed to living my best life, which means that I intend to have a significant impact on the lives of the people I serve while creating wealth. It can all co-exist!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Entrepreneurship is, in my opinion, the highest level of self-development. You really have to own your creative power and be aware of your limiting beliefs as they shape your reality. If you don't, they'll surely be impacting your results. Being a business owner is about taking full responsibility for your life. It's easy to celebrate our victories, but it can be harder to be honest about how we get in our own way.

At its core, it's about how we perceive our worth. Do I deserve to receive it? Do I have all it's needed to be a successful entrepreneur? There's always a deeper level where we can address those fundamental challenges; it takes courage to do so! As a coach, you also have to be in full integrity towards your client: you can't point to them what isn't working in their lives and not be willing to do the work yourself.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be yourself. Make sure that the vision you hold is truly yours. Considering the time we spent working on our business, it has to light our hearts up. It's easy to fall into the trap of being a people pleaser, but it never serves us in the long run.
  2. Believe in your potential. Even if the vision you hold seems huge and unattainable, steadiness is the key. If you can dream it, you can achieve it!
  3. Be playful. Life is to be enjoyed, and it's easy to fall into the trap of taking it too seriously. The universe has our back and wants to provide for us, but it's up to us to open the door.
