What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own Maven's Moon Apothecary and Spa, and my store is a spiritual home of love and light. I sell a variety of homemade spiritual growth tools for the community. I also make my own skincare line and a variety of teas for various conditions. We also sell art from local artists, candles, bath soaks, and an apothecary of over 160 local sieved non-GMO herbs. In the back, you will find our beautiful gardens filled with faerie gardens.
Tell us about yourself
I’m a mom; first and foremost, I have six children and started my business out of my garage as a single mom and doing pop-ups around the area. My motivation comes from being able to help people down their spiritual journey and offering a haven for them to gather in. I also always say I work for the faeries, so I suppose they help as well.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is seeing the growth in the community and the growth of my store. In just three years, we have expanded tremendously, and all that because of love.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things is when I have a hard day, I always have to put on a smile and do the work I’m called to do, which is healing. Sometimes I just need a mental health day, but honestly, by blocking it out and serving people even when I’m down, I always end up with a smile at the end of the day. It’s between that, being dyslexic and a business owner and running all of my social media and advertising. That’s definitely a challenge.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I just hope that this story helps reach somebody who may need a big hug or may need someone to sit down and listen to them and not feel judged.
