What's your business, and who are your customers?

Mark Wood Entertainment, Inc., is an entertainment and production company based in the LA/OC California area that provides services for clients locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Tell us about yourself

I began playing music professionally at the age of eleven in 1968. I have been involved in all aspects of the entertainment business as a musician, producer, songwriter, and for the last 20 years as President and CEO of Mark Wood Entertainment, Inc. Whether playing an intimate show or producing an extravaganza for one of our clients, the variety and creativity that goes into each event is what continually motivates me. Taking each event to a new and exciting level is extremely exhilarating and continues to motivate me daily, even after 55 years in the Business! Our mission at MWE is to combine the highest quality of service with the utmost integrity to create the most memorable experience for our clients by providing the finest entertainment, seamless event production, and state-of-the-art production services.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Taking a small two-person operation and turning it into a multimillion-dollar corporation. Having a dream and seeing it all come to fruition has been extremely exciting. We now have a successful design and production company, as well as a roster of 300+ acts of all types and genres.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

After surviving the COVID-19 Pandemic, hiring support production staff has been extremely challenging.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Create a vision, write it down in great detail, complete it with a timeline, put it where you can see it, and affirm it daily, and then once you are ready, execute it!
