Tell us about yourself
After years of working in corporate marketing and spending time as a middle school English teacher, I traded in the 9-5 life to help creative entrepreneurs share their knowledge through online courses. I provide the accountability, tech support, and, most importantly – strategic curriculum design – that ensures your students actually learn something and fill your inbox with glowing reviews.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating a business that provides for my family and allows us to work from wherever travel often, and have more freedom than most people.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Some people are kind of sleazy. The business world is full of the most incredible humans you'll ever meet and also some people who are just in it for the money. Navigating situations and deciding who has your back can sometimes be a challenge, but it's also so rewarding.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Choose the amount of money you want to make before you leave your day job. Pick a specific number. I spent over 8 years trying to start a business, but what really shifted for me was when I got specific on my goal and picked one number I wanted to get to.
- Spend at least 10 minutes a day showing up and helping others. My business grew fast because I regularly showed up online and answered people's questions about online courses, passive income, and technology!
- It's cliche - but keep going! You never know how close you are to success, and often it's just around the corner.
