What's your business, and who are your customers?

We serve both the patient and the family experiencing cancer. We help those newly diagnosed, in treatment, or in their next phase after treatment. We have built tools and resources that provide control, agency, and peace of mind to those navigating the cancer experience. Our flagship product is a structured paper-based planner that helps you stay organized along the cancer journey. We offer 1-1 services to support psychosocial aspects of care, nutrition, and exercise.

Tell us about yourself

Manta Cares came from my own experiences as a cancer patient. Hearing the words "you have cancer" is unlike anything else in the world. Your entire universe comes crashing down in a single moment. Our mission at Manta Cares is to transform how we experience and manage cancer. We are here to make this experience just a little easier. I learn from patients and their families daily. Their stories motivate me to keep going.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We have helped over 900 patients and families with cancer.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Marketing :) It's the part of the business that makes me the most uncomfortable.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. We talk a lot about product-market fit, but it is about founder-problem fit.
  2. Find others on a similar path and believe in a similar mission—partner with them.
  3. Intimacy and authenticity attract others to a brand or mission. Start there.
