Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business services but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Molly Scott, Founder of Make It With Molly Virtual Services, located in Virginia Beach, VA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a virtual assistant that helps artists and makers of all kinds run their businesses.
Tell us about yourself
Well, I’m an artist and a maker, and I can’t think of anything better than helping those that are also makers. I needed to work to pay bills, and this, for me, is perfect.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Just deciding to go for it. I asked myself, “can I really do this?” I decided that I really could!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Making sure I keep the communication between myself and the client going. They have to rely on me so they can create.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Write down in bullet points who you are and what interests you. What are you comfortable with doing to help others and, over time, build up?
- Find a mentor that has done this before and get their advice.
- Decide on a budget. Can you hire a coach, or is it a really tight budget? If it’s a tight budget, consider a virtual class. The biggest thing is to believe in yourself and go for it.
