What's your business, and who are your customers?

Magnet Culture works with organizations across the U.S. to reduce unnecessary employee turnover by bridging generational gaps and making managers more effective in their roles.

Tell us about yourself

I'm passionate about helping people and businesses grow, so as I listened to the market over the last ten years, I realized retention was becoming a massive issue for employers. I dove in to solve the problem and have become a highly sought-after keynote speaker and consultant in the space.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

In 2018, I published the book "Staying Power: Why Your Employees Leave and How to Keep Them Longer" with a proven framework for reducing employee turnover.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Practicing what we preach. As a talent retention expert, it's critical that I take great care of my team, maintain manageable workloads for everyone, and still get my own job done. That takes a lot of balancing and avoiding spreading myself too thin!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Begin with the end in mind and know your exit strategy for when you're done running the business. Have a solid yet nimble business model with future numbers already projected. Make time to manage your staff in an effective way that makes them feel like a million bucks!

I love working with leadership teams to shift their mindsets about workforce retention and create realistic retention roadmaps for companies to become places where people WANT to work!
