What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a home baker and bake fresh Custom Cakes. Celebrating a special day without a cake is just incomplete. I am a mother who wants to stay home with my child and still want to do something to keep the artist in me alive and baking gives me the opportunity to do that … the happiness on someone’s face when they see and taste the cake fills my heart and makes me happy 😊

Tell us about yourself

It all started in 2019; I was always very ambitious and wanted to do something in life. I had a rewarding career in management and teaching. But after my daughter was born, I just felt that I needed to give her more time and just started baking. It never started as a business, but it happened that it just took over with word of mouth from my friends, and within no time, I was busy as a baker, and now I am doing this full time.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I can work according to my time, and I'm happy to work from home, generating income and spreading happiness.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

All days are not good days, and sometimes you have to face some unhappy clients too, but I always look for feedback. Good or bad, it helps me improve.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take small steps, and it takes time.
  2. Keep adding and improving.
  3. Always look at the negative feedback as something positive to learn.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I'm happy being a baker and would love to flourish more in this field.
