What's your business, and who are your customers?
LUX Design is a full-service Interior Design firm with 4 locations across North America. Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, and Sarasota, Florida.
We specialize in creating one-of-a-kind, luxury residential interiors. Our unique client-focused approach allows us to take the stress out of the otherwise multi-faceted renovation process.
We are a women-owned business with over 15 years of experience. We love to transform our client's Interiors by means of great design.
Tell us about yourself
Since I was a little child, I was constantly involved in all forms of art while at the same time loving math. Those two juxtaposing interests are precisely what led me to a career as an interior designer. It requires two various trains of thought. For design to be successful, it must marry Aesthetic superiority while being functional. Interior Design and bettering spaces for our clients is my passion and does not feel like work. At the end of the day, when I see my client's faces when they come home after we have completed the final touches of a project, it is worth everything. We have effectively bettered their living or working environment, increased the property value, and created something beautiful for people to enjoy.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Starting a business from scratch is not an easy task. Since 2008 I started on my own and now have 4 locations across North America and a large team of dedicated Managers and Lead Designers, allowing us to take on small projects and large ones.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Learning how to turn off the clock. I used to work seven days a week, but now that I have a family, I find that balance is incredibly important. I typically do not work on weekends and always make time to travel. Travel is the best source of mental relaxation and inspiration.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be fearless.
- Take your passion and make it a reality.
- Work hard and always put yourself out there; you never know who you will meet, where, why, and for what reason.
