What's your business, and who are your customers?
Lush Brows by Cris is a brow studio located in Charlotte, NC. I am a Certified Permanent Makeup Artist who specializes in Microshading. We enhance women's confidence through their brows and give them the brows they desire.
Tell us about yourself
I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and moved to Charlotte, NC, two years ago with my family. I took our move as a restart to do everything I always wanted. After my graduate school closed down, I experienced postpartum and high levels of work stress because I was not happy career-wise working a 9 to 5, and I felt I was not fulfilling my purpose. When I moved to Charlotte, I took a leap of faith and vowed only to do what makes me happy. I took a Microshading class and have been happy ever since. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is seeing my clients smile after I have completed their brow service. When I see that they are happy with their results, I feel that I have fulfilled my purpose: helping people feel good about themselves.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is having to do it all. I am a marketer, photographer, social media strategist, secretary, decorator, and artist. It can get very overwhelming sometimes
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Stay consistent. Always remember why you started your business.
- Research. Know everything you can possibly know about your field because there is always room to grow.
- Stay motivated. Sometimes your business will slow down in the slow months, and you may get discouraged. Stay motivated and keep going through the rough times.
