What's your business, and who are your customers?
Lovely Claws LLC is a press-on-nail brand that offers XXL press-on nail sets. Our customers are individuals who love long nails but have nail restrictions from their employer or have daily tasks where long nails would hinder them.
Tell us about yourself
Lovely Claws LLC was formed in 2020 after I decided to step out on faith and leave corporate America after years of putting in long hours and hard work into companies I didn't love. I love long nails and have worn them from the time I was old enough to get them, however with my last employer, the company had a nail restriction, and for almost two years, I wasn't allowed to get longs nails which something that brought joy every two weeks when I would go for a new set or fill in. Once I quit my job, I was in a depressed state and just was questioning if I had made the right decision by stepping out on faith and allowing God to guide me. One day I was on the phone with my best friend, who had just come from the nail salon, and I was telling her how I loved her nails, and she told me maybe I should go get my nails done to cheer me up. Now it had been almost 2 years since I was able to get my nails long, so when that was brought up, I instantly went the next day to get my nails done. When I was finished, my spirit was lifted, and I felt whole again. As time went on, I went on to become a nail technician because of what I felt that moment after getting my nails done, and I wanted others to feel the same joy. As a nail Technician, I had multiple clients who would come to get service, and of course, my nails are long. They would often say they love my nails and wish they could get theirs that long, but work or daily tasks wouldn't allow them to. I began to think back to the times when I was restricted, and then God placed Lovely Claws LLC in my heart. Providing my clients and then the world XXL press on nails to use on their off time or free time. The XXL press on nails allows them to apply and remove them easily and get more than one use out of them.e
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is actually stepping out on faith and believing that I could build and run my own business.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things has to be being the only one on the team. When I first began, I had to do everything while being a single mother with no other help or income. So I was putting in a lot of time and hard work to make sure I was able to keep my kids' taken care of and my business growing.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Put God first.
- Learn and incorporate great customer service skills and problem-solving.
- If you have the ability or resources to get help in building and growing your business, do so.
