What's your business, and who are your customers?

I, Rachel Madorsky, LCSW + Love Your Life, LLC are a world-class executive coaching and professional development company. We guide women and women-run businesses to experience their highest and best version of themselves with more love, wealth, joy, and ease. We teach ambitious, soulful women how to say YES to themselves and create massive success on their own terms.

We believe generosity comes naturally and that receiving big is the fastest path to giving big. You're allowed to put your desires at the front of the line, knowing that you have a big, beautiful contribution to make - one that only you can give.

Tell us about yourself

Many years ago, my biggest secret goal was to pass as "normal," to have people look at my life and think, "wow, she must have had a great childhood."

Now my biggest goal is to teach love and wealth in all its forms, to guide women, regardless of their beginning, into knowing that they deserve more love, always, that they can have whatever they want in this life, and that giving themselves everything they want can include their greatest contribution to the world.

I recently became the best-selling author of the book, How to Love Yourself: In Less Than a Week and Also for the Rest of Your Life. The dedication is this. To every little girl who wanted more and every woman who said Yes to themselves. Your love and joy are big enough to heal the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been helping other entrepreneurs 10 times their income while experiencing more love, joy, freedom, and ease. One of my favorite things to teach people is how to use their goals as their path.

Meaning the things we think we will be able to experience once we get "THERE" are actually the things we can experience NOW as a path TO getting "There." This shift is life-changing. Watching a person move from feeling overwhelmed and stressed to feeling free, alive, and happy is a true gift.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

It's easy for me to get obsessed with my work and forget to have fun doing other things. I'm continually practicing being my own best friend, champion, and cheerleader.

In practical terms, this means practicing saying YES over and over to trusting myself, my vision, and my dreams on my own terms. The good news is that being a business owner means that every time I say Yes to myself, I open the door for someone else to say Yes to themselves… this is very motivating and inspiring to me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Practicing loving yourself and saying Yes to yourself as if it were the most valuable thing you can do.
  2. Design your schedule the way you would most love it to be (when you're making all the money you want to make), and start living that schedule NOW. There is no rule that says it has to be hard. Make it fun for you, and you will be able to grow your business to last. Believe in the value you provide by being authentically YOU. Your authentic self, contributing the thing you want to contribute to the world.
  3. Have business best friends, others with whom you can share your journey, be totally real with, and with whom you can celebrate your wins. Celebrating your wins (and your friend's wins) is one of the fastest ways to receive more of what you love.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

This is your life, don't let limiting beliefs and either /or thinking slow you down. You can be rich and generous. You can have fun and have a successful business. You can serve others and be fully you.  Taking good care of yourself is the greatest thing you can do for your business as well as your clients & customers.
