What's your business, and who are your customers?
Longevity Veterinary Center is NJ's premier integrative veterinary center. We serve all pet parents (including exotic animal pets) with a wide range of conventional and holistic therapies.
Tell us about yourself
I have been a veterinarian for more than 35 years. Over the years, I have learned more and more about the amazing integrative tools available to treat animals and have seen some amazing results using them. We have incorporated therapies, including acupuncture, chiropractic, cold laser therapy, MBRT (microbiome restorative therapy), homeopathy, and much more, into our veterinary center. Each day I am inspired by helping to heal animals and to promote their wellness so that they can thrive.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have just opened our new 15,000-square-foot facility and expanded our services for clients across the area. It has been a huge undertaking to build and launch our Longevity Veterinary Center, but it is a wonderful accomplishment to bring these treatments to the area.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things of being a business owner is juggling so many aspects of the business at the same time. Having an amazing, productive team is the key to making it all work. I am very lucky to have a staff that makes it all happen.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The first thing I would say is not to be afraid to follow your dreams. If you have a vision, you can make it happen. Aligned with that is the second tip: persistence matters. It's easy to get sidetracked, but the more staying the course will get you there even when obstacles come your way. Finally, I would say hire a great team because surrounding yourself with people who inspire and support you will make all the difference in your ultimate success.
