What's your business, and who are your customers?

There are two divisions of Live and Rest Coaching. As a business coach, I work with entrepreneurs and executives and focus on profitability and productivity coaching. We have joined the mission of Profit First to eradicate entrepreneurial poverty and overwhelm. I also have a team of Pediatric Sleep Consultants (liveandrestbaby.com) with a mission to break the exhaustion cycle of families with children aged four months to 9 years. We customize plans to get the family sleeping again.

Tell us about yourself

One of the things that pushes me daily is realizing that life and goals don't occur in a straight line. The journey has ups and downs and turns. I started my first business as a Pediatric Sleep Consultant and found joy in helping parents through the sleep deprivation that can accompany the first few years of parenting. Through that experience, I saw how isolating and lonely it could be to be for an entrepreneur, and I was fascinated by learning about communication and motivation; I also realized that I wasn't the only business owner that struggled to pay themselves. There was a disconnect between the vision I had for my business and the reality I was facing. I found that I had a special way of helping others identify this gap and do something about it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One of the things that I am most proud of is the respect that I have earned among my peers. I am known for integrity and transparency, even if it is not the most comfortable thing at the moment.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It can feel lonely and isolating, and it can be difficult to enroll others into a vision that you see for your life and company.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Work on courage and systems over motivation.
2. You are enough and what you have to say is valid and worthy.
3. Fall in love with the habits needed for a goal instead of focusing on the outcome. This will keep you moving forward.
