Get Connected, Get Noticed, Get Hired - LinkedIn Impact

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Hammad Siddiqui, founder of LinkedIn Impact, located in Oshawa, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a LinkedIn Coach and Consultant based in Ontario, Canada. Given the fact that only about 5% of LinkedIn users understand how LinkedIn can help them in becoming a brand and do job searches to find Freelancing opportunities, my clients exist on LinkedIn, every LinkedIn users, individual, or companies.

Tell us about yourself

I have over 35 years of corporate career. As an Economist, I worked in 12 countries; having said that, in my free time, I coached. I pivoted into my business as a LinkedIn Coach and Consultant two years ago. It was enough of corporate life; I wanted to test myself as a coach. I grew my following on LinkedIn from 6000 to 50,000 in 20 months. I have produced over 1000 pieces of content for myself (and a bigger number for my clients).

I have a global community. Helping my community on LinkedIn is my driver, my motivator when my clients share their success, that becomes my dopamine.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think starting a business is the biggest accomplishment. I say that because people plan, think, and try, but most do not start. The biggest accomplishment is when we STAR, Move to the next level, Learn something new, Connect with amazing people, Help someone, And, as a result, make MONEY! I do it every day, without fail. That is my biggest accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a solopreneur, keeping track of time is the most challenging thing.
Maneuvering effectively to make everything work around your business and yet keeping time for family, health, and socializing, is a major challenge!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Right time is always NOW.
  2. Stop following influencers who tell their stories about making $$ millions.
  3. Stay Lean (read Minimalist Entrepreneur - A great book)

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

There is no right or wrong time to start your business. If you want to do it, just do it. There is no business school that can tell you if you would fail or be successful; just keep the basics right, build your brand, a community around you (or be part of one), build trust, all that will help you excel!
