What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are Lingostar.ai. Lingostar is an AI conversation practice partner for intermediate language learners. Most language learners quit before reaching fluency. Oftentimes this is due to how difficult it is to find an affordable, helpful conversation partner who fits around your schedule. With Lingostar, you can talk about anything in voice or text and receive helpful feedback on pronunciation, grammar, and translations!
Tell us about yourself
I have always been passionate about language learning. At Harvard, I studied Romance Languages and even taught English at a few high schools in Italy after graduation. I joke that my goal is to build a product that will help me catch up to my wife, who speaks five languages fluently!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We launched in mid-August and have already reached over 1,000 Active Users! Also, several universities and language learning companies are piloting the Lingostar tool with their classes.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The excitement of every day being different can also be stressful at times. It is important to be able to separate yourself from your work; otherwise, you'll get burnt out.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be passionate about the space you're in. There can be tough, lonely days, but when you care about what you do, it makes it worthwhile.
- Ask questions, and seek help. There are more people out there who are willing to help than you may initially think. You're not alone.
- Talk to your customers as much as you can.
