Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Liliana Perez, Principal CEO of Nutritruck and Hormolance, located in Riverview, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is a health and life change company; as a nutrition and hormone specialist, I help people online to improve their health and balance their hormones through nutrition and lifestyle changes. I'm located in Tampa, and I'm the proud owner of the very first healthy food truck in the Tampa Bay Area. My customers are people who want to lose between 15 and 45 pounds. My approach to achieving this goal is through hormone balance and establishing a new mindset.

Tell us about yourself

At the young age of two, I began to suffer from asthma. Most of my childhood memories are of being extremely ill and, as a byproduct landing me in a hospital bed. The doctors really gave me no hope. They told me I would need to learn how to live with this debilitating disease. I have always intuitively known that proper nutrition in itself has the power to heal and cure most diseases. This led me passionately to find the cure through proper nutrition.

Not only did I manage to heal and cure myself from this disease, but I developed a burning passion and desire to help others heal through proper nutrition. I became a hormone balancing specialist and an Integrative Health Coach.

My passion is seeing my clients thrive and putting the right nutrients in their bodies to help them show up like the best version of themselves. Not only do I hold them by the hand throughout our entire coaching process, but I give them the tools to sustain their positive results.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm originally from Venezuela, I came to this amazing country seven years ago, and now I have two successful businesses, and I feel very proud to have helped hundreds of people to change their lives and health-keeping results for the rest of their lives.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, the hardest part was, starting as an immigrant, not knowing the culture and the American mindset. I had to learn fast to adapt my service and knowledge to my client's needs. This cost me a lot of no sleep hours and sacrifices, but I did it, and I'm always learning and improving my methods to offer a better service.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make money from something that fills your heart. This is the only way you enjoy the hard work ride.
  2. Wake up early and be faithful to your goals.
  3. Keep positive and successful people around you, and learn from their experiences.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Being an entrepreneur has been the most learning, exciting, and rewarding experience of my life, and I love each part of it.
