Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Andra Ciocan, co-founder, and CEO of Life's Rails Community, located in New Westminster, BC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Life's Rails Community is a Transformational Coaching business that provides 1-on-1 life coaching services with a focus on burnout prevention & recovery. In parallel, LRC sells intentional-living resources such as guides, planners, and workbooks. Furthermore, this coming summer, we will also be selling a Mini eBook series (which will be found on Amazon), and an online course (found on skillshare) fully focused on the benefits of Intentional Living and how to get started in creating your best possible life!

Tell us about yourself

I dealt with anxiety my whole life up until 6-7 years ago, not truly understanding what I was going through. One day I hit a wall and also totally burned out. This was when I realized I needed to start taking better care of myself. Overall, I just wanted to feel better so I could live a long, healthy & happy life!

So I began searching for a community that would be right for me, to support me through my journey, and unfortunately, I never found it! So instead, I decided to start my own: I first began learning everything I could about anxiety, stress, and burnout, and then I filled my cup with mindfulness, mindset, and well-being practices.

By taking certain steps to change my life, I was rejuvenated and hooked on the successful results I had achieved! This was when I realized I wanted others to also feel and experience what I had felt and to have the same great life-changing results! Soon after, my community blog was born.

What motivates me to keep going is knowing that daily my content is reaching someone and helping them in some way. This thought keeps me smiling and makes me strive harder to reach a wider audience each year.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I would say that perhaps having at first started my business as a community blog really helped me get to know some wonderful people, and so, I'd say that one of my biggest accomplishments may be the spectacular team we have created here at LRC. I am blessed that I get to work with the most amazing individuals who are also just as passionate as I am about the well-being industry. We have such fun working together on all sorts of projects behind the scenes. Without them, I'm not sure what my business would look like!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Practicing consistency for sure, when consistency is lacking, hiccups in the road may appear without warning, meaning you really want to focus on being consistent, or your productivity, your traction, your motivation, and your business overall can take a hit. Afterward, it can be very hard to get back into the rhythm of things.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find out what you truly love to do and focus your main energy in that direction. And the parts you cannot see yourself taking on every day, invest in someone great who knows that part inside and out and that you can trust to do it well and with great care.
  2. Make sure to maintain a healthy work-life balance, no matter what. If you lose your health, the business will fail, or you will fail the business and the people around you one day when you've burned out.
  3. Stop worrying about what other people are doing... or even what they think of you or of what you are doing, do what you have to do because it feels right to you. Make an impact today and follow your dreams
start creating your best life today. Don't wait for the right time; that time doesn't exist - start today!
