Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in content creation but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Pam Howard, Host of Less Drama More Mama, located in Boynton Beach, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is called Less Drama More Mama, which pretty much sums it up. Using my proven signature framework, The More Mama Method (which has helped women in every stage of parenting and with every type of struggle), I help high-achieving moms feel as successful in their parenting as they do in other areas of their lives. I guide them step-by-step to having their ideal relationships with their kids, being more in control of their emotions, and feeling confident in their parenting decisions.

Tell us about yourself

After overcoming my own challenges staying calm and connected to my kids, it became my purpose and passion to help other moms learn how to feel calm, confident, and in control of themselves, too, so they could be proud of themselves when their heads hit their pillows at night.

My main goal is to help moms stop focusing on trying to control their kids (which is impossible) and start focusing on regulating themselves and making better choices. Less Drama means less yelling, less overwhelm, less stress, less guilt, less chaos, less blame, less judgment of yourself and others, and less resentment. All of that leads to More Mama because you end up with more patience, more energy, more confidence, more control, more peace, more time, more joy, more connection, more self-compassion, and more love.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is helping parents transform their relationships and experience the parent-child bond they always dreamed they'd share.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

For me, one of the hardest things is staying accountable to myself and following through on my plans. It's sometimes tempting to prioritize easier or more enjoyable tasks over business-related ones, but I always feel so proud of myself when I see my ideas through to completion.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Block off time in your calendar for self-care, rest, and fun before you schedule business-related items, not the other way around.
  2. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. If running a business was easy, everyone would do it.
  3. Learn to do most things yourself, and then hire people to take over the tasks you don't like or aren't good at. You'll be able to use the time to make more money doing what you love.
