Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lenore Elbrecht, founder of Lenorganized, located in Napanoch, NY, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Lenorganized is a consulting company that helps people get out of their own way and realize their potential. We partner with entrepreneurs to improve efficiency and accountability in their lives, both professional and personal. We empower our clients to be more productive by creating systems and routines (yeah!) to streamline their every day.
Our clients are small businesses ranging from Mom + Pop retail shops to builders who are looking to scale their business and entrepreneurs who are juggling work/life balance and need to step up their game.
Tell us about yourself
I am a problem solver. In my 20+ years of management, I've learned to take a step back and see the big picture. I thrive on figuring out ways to facilitate the most efficient (and profitable) solution. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and have always worked in Manhattan. In 2015 my husband and I purchased a country house in Upstate NY which became our escape from city life. It was magical! I quickly realized that I wanted to spend more time there, so I started to PLAN. How could I still have my career, which I truly love...and be upstate? Starting my own business was the solution.
I had a plan and timeline, but COVID-19 happened, so it all sped up. We sold our Brooklyn home and moved upstate, and Lenorganized was officially born.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Entrepreneurs are hustlers. We are truly full speed ahead, multi-tasking, taking on the world. My biggest accomplishment is when a client is able to take time for themselves, give their brains a rest, and be present. My #1 tip is to take care of yourself, so you can then take care of your team and business.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The unknown....what will September look like? Where will my next client take me? As a serial planner, I am most productive and happy with a routine and structure. I'm learning to go with the flow and take one day at a time.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just do it. Start to do the work and watch it evolve.
- Connect with your tribe. Ask questions, do research, find out what your friends and colleagues are doing, and ask for advice. My tribes are my cheerleaders and support. (Thank you!)
- If you don't LOVE IT, don't do it. Life is short....love it or leave it.
