What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm a brand strategist and designer for heart-centered woman-owned businesses that are ready to rise as the expert in their industry. I believe that when we own our story, unapologetically share our message, and step into our power, and we can change the world. I'm passionate about helping women entrepreneurs build brands that reflect their true essence and attract their ideal clients. I specialize in creating brands that are authentic, magnetic, and unforgettable.
Tell us about yourself
I have two degrees in art and design, and I have always been driven by a desire to use my creativity to make a difference in the world. But it wasn't until my husband, and I started a small, handmade business together that I ever considered that entrepreneurship was where I'd thrive. When I met other women in the handmade community who were working to build their own businesses without much guidance or support, it inspired me. When I realized what my skill could offer the women in this community, I knew I had found my place. This catalyzed the launch of my design studio.
My business is all about helping women to feel confident and empowered in their online presence. I believe that every woman has a unique voice and perspective that should be heard. My mission is to help women share their stories and build businesses that reflect their values. I am so passionate about this work because I know firsthand how powerful it can be to feel represented and valued in the online space. It is my hope that through my business, I can help make the internet a more equitable place for women everywhere.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'm proud of so many things that I've been able to do as a business owner, but I'd say my biggest accomplishment has been just staying in business and continuing to evolve and grow. It's not easy to be a business owner, especially in today's economy, but I'm grateful that I've persevered and continue to build my company. I'm always looking for new ways to improve my business and keep it relevant. I'm proud of the hard work and dedication that I've put into it. I know that as long as I keep doing what I love, my business will continue to thrive.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about entrepreneurship has been the isolation. It can be easy to feel like you're in it alone when you're working from home, and that can take a toll on your mental health. I've had to really make an effort to build a network and community of like-minded businesswomen, and that has made all the difference. These women have become my sounding board, my biggest cheerleaders, and my closest friends. They've helped me to see the value in what I'm doing, and they've given me the confidence to really show up in my business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Set your business up for success by getting really clear about your why. I heard it once, "The clearer the why, the easier the how." This could not be more true.
- Invest in your success no matter how scary it feels. Believe in yourself.
- Surround yourself with people who light you up and will support you - the kind of relationships that will bolster your willingness to take risks and put yourself out there!
