What's your business, and who are your customers?

Tell us about yourself

For as long as I can remember, I have always been a creator. I am decidedly right-brained: expressive, emotive, and intuitive with love for art and music. So naturally, I pursued an education in the Arts and obtained my Bachelor's degree in Design.

I am a Professional Designer, a CIFD Certified Floral Designer, and a WPIC Certified Wedding Planner. Seeing all the hard work planned over months come to life gives me energy, and seeing my couple's happy faces pushes me to do even better! I love working and interacting with my clients. They are my motivation each day as I am responsible for such an important day of their lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One of my biggest accomplishments is gaining the confidence over the years to build the brand I have always wanted and do the work I have always dreamed about. Working with clients who share a similar aesthetic and vision as mine is always a treat! Also, being able to move into my own office & warehouse space after working many years from home was a big accomplishment for me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Having to make tough decisions on your own, dealing with the unknown (hello COVID!), working 24/7 some days, and learning to delegate.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be positive and patient in the first few years.
  2. Try to gain some experience working in the industry to gain confidence. Have a mentor in the industry who can guide you.
  3. Don't give up! Even if it seems tough initially, keep at it, and you will see success.
