Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Courtney LaChance, Co-Founder of Leisure of NYC, located in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My brother and I started LEISURE OF NYC as a solution to lost bags while you travel. We both worked in the travel industry, and we hated to lose our bags and be left without comfy basics to sleep in at night, which made us feel at home. So we started LEISURE to have what you need, where you need it.
Tell us about yourself
We are motivated to put a smile on someone's face, make them feel comfy, and not harm our planet while doing it. We pride ourselves in being the coziest sustainable basics out there without using plastic fibers in our fabric.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My many failures have made me a better person, better business owner, and partner.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Probably the lack of support you get from your family and friends in the beginning!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find a business community.
- Trial and error for everything; what works for one company may not work for yours with marketing or anything for that matter.
- Don't be afraid to have a side hustle to be able to make good money decisions.
